Today Fujita Corporation, a Daiwa House group company (Headquarter: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President: Yoji Okumura) held the New Year's Assembly. The general summary of the president, Mr. Okumura's speech at the assembly is as follows.

3. Summary

Last year we accomplished a major event, the business merger. In addition, a number of the synergy projects with Daiwa House took off. In a sense we can state that it was a preparatory time for future growth. Therefore, we must steadily push our goals and dreams forward this year.

At the time of the merger, I raised the goal as to "achieve the new, become strong, and keep advancing". Are these goals a reality yet? Together we must think how we can realize our goals and put the ideas into practice in order to achieve them.

It takes time to reach to an achievement. What we are striving for is not the type of task that has an immediate result. Incremental efforts towards the ultimate result equate to steps into the future. If we neglect such effort, the company will definitely decline in mid to long term. It is important for all of us to keep making an honest effort for the future and for the intangible results.

Currently, the tide is running in the favor of construction industry, but this year's result is a "record provided by a favorable tailwind". We must always think ahead and be prepared in order to be the company which continues to steadily grows even when the wind stops or turns against us.

In the construction industry, we can only prepare ourselves for the future when the business is thriving. It will be too late to act when the industry faces the time for reduction. The time to prepare ourselves is now. Entire departments have to consider our future earnestly and act accordingly. Let's tackle the New Year with a sense of urgency.

This year, Fujita will "achieve the new, become strong, and keep advancing". Let us all work together to overcome our obstacles and thrive.
