The new millennium is marked by rapid growth in information and
a seemingly inexorable tend of globalization, set against the background
of an aging society with falling birthrate and environmental concerns
on a global scale. In response our core values seem to be changing
from those based on unthinking consumerism to a sense of the
need for greater recycling and a desire to build societies where
people and nature can co-exist.
In addition to Fujitas core function as a construction company,
we have always aimed to make a contribution to society by building
not just bricks-and-mortar but by building communities. We have
been diversifying our operations in accordance with trends in social
attitudes and values and changes in customer needs. We can offer
optimal value in terms of a buildings life cycle, from design
and construction to maintenance management, always making client
satisfaction our top priority.

Fujita is working hard to meet the environmental challenges of
the new millennium. We are busy conducting the kind of proprietary
research that will be vital in this new era; research into preserving
air, water and soil quality and combining this with engineering
technology in a continuing effort to protect the environment. We
have also been making proposals for eco-cities that would improve
the quality-of-live of their inhabitants whilst preserving the natural
environment.
We have also been busy in order areas with potential long-term
growth, such as facilities for medical use, for welfare, for distribution
and production, and for the environmental, information and communications
sectors. We are also actively tapping our expertise in urban renewal
(one of our major strengths) to meet to the changing needs of cities
and the revitalization of regional urban areas.
In 2000, Fujita celebrated its 90th anniversary and as we progress
to our 100th anniversary, we will continue to add value and contribute
to social development under the slogan What is Fujita? Meeting
the challenge by creating value.
Today Fujita is rewriting history, so we can all work together
to create a world that combines a rich natural environment and vibrant
societies with caring communities.
