Students of Architectural Engineering visit construction sites

On September 07, 25 students (mainly freshmen and sophomores) and two professors from the Department of Architectural Engineering at Hiroshima Institute of Technology, visited Fujita's construction site for a new school building at Kogata elementary and junior high school (commissioned by Otake City, Hiroshima Prefecture). The Institute requested a site visit with Fujita Corporation in order for students to learn about working during the early stages of university life, and Fujita Corporation invited the students as part of construction education Fujita has been actively promoting.

During the site visit, the site manager firstly outlined the project, then the students moved to the site to see interior works and other building construction processes with much attention paid to the explanations from site engineers.

In the question and answer session after the site visit, students asked questions about detailed construction methods, Fujita's business areasand recruiting activities such as "what are the important points when site engineers have communications with sub-contractor", "what should be done at this moment for the future recruiting activities ", "Is there any possibility to work overseas?" and so on.

After the site visit, some students gave impressions such as "we can feel actual construction works", "it is a good experience to contact various actual construction workers" and "it is a good experience for the future recruiting activities".

Now, Fujita Corporation is positively developing construction education in order to let various people know the actual situations, contribute to society and to new technologies within the construction industry through inviting people to actual construction sites and providing lectures on demand.
