Development of LED lighting system with high power and high efficiency
Fujita Corporation (President : Takuji Ueda) , through EAE (one of affiliates of Fujita Construction Group, President : Kazuhiro Chayama), has started sales of a new LED lighting system which has been jointly developed with SOLECO Corporation (a venture company for lighting system). This LED lighting system has a total power efficiency of more than 100 lumen per 1W (including power source). In future, FUJITA will use this system as a competitive advantage for being awarded projects such as factories, logistics facilities and experimental sites where this type of high power lighting system is necessary.
Up to now, LED lighting systems with a power of more than 100W have not been commercially available because radiation heat treatment method, which prevents from decreasing lighting volume and efficiency during lighting, have not been developed. This development has been focused on the radiation heat treatment method, and the development of the natural radiation heat treatment system has been successfully developed. As a result, a high efficiency lighting system with 100 lumen per 1W has been successfully developed. Regarding costs, the sales price increases compared to existing system because this system uses LED as the light emission source. However, power consumption can be reduced by 40% compared to existing mercury light, and initial purchasing investment can be recollected within three years.
Recently, current lighting systems are rapidly replaced by LED lighting systems in terms of energy reduction and CO2 reduction. The domestic market scale is expected to be around 2,000 million USD in 2009, and 4,800 million USD in 2012. The target market areas for the developed system will be facilities using large volume lighting systems such as factories, experiment yards, warehouses with large space, and the market share is expected to be around 15 %( 600-900 million USD) in the market using high power lighting systems .
From now on, SOLECO Corporation will be in charge of manufacturing the system, and EAE will be in charge of marketing and sales with a target sales amount of around six million USD in 2012.
